Ontario's regulated iGaming market explained
Since April 2022 Ontario has operated a regulated online gambling market. It is licensed by iGaming Ontario (iGO), which works with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the province's gaming regulator. Only operators that register with iGaming Ontario and meet AGCO standards are authorised to serve Ontario players in that regulated market. The official operator list is published by iGaming Ontario.
Where Vegaz Casino sits relative to Ontario
Vegaz Casino holds a Curacao licence and has operated offshore since 2020. It is not registered with iGaming Ontario and is not part of the AGCO-regulated Ontario market. That is a factual statement about registration, not a rating of the site: Vegaz operates under Curacao oversight, which is a different regime from Ontario's provincial framework.
Why the distinction matters for Ontario players
Ontario built its regulated market so that operators serving the province meet local standards for player protection, dispute handling and responsible gambling, all overseen by the AGCO. An offshore operator such as Vegaz sits outside that oversight. Ontario players who want an operator inside the provincial framework should consult the registered list on iGaming Ontario rather than an offshore site.
Vegaz and other Canadian provinces
